National Curriculum in Action - Creativity - A website devoted to givig practical ideas on how to promote pupil's creative thinking and behaviour from the QCA. Gives help on how to spot creativity, suggestions as to how you can promote it, and examples of creativity in action, One to watch?

Teacher Resource Exchange - The Teacher Resource Exchange is a database of resources and activities designed to help teachers develop and share ideas for good practice. The database, which is searchable by Key Stage, year, subject and others is very easy to submit resources to (here's schoolsource), and so is likely to be used by a larger number of people as it gains recognition. The site is all part of the NGfl happy family.

Curriculum Online - A new site launched in January 2003 from the DfES which calls itself 'a one-stop online catalogue of digitallearning resources' Resources include lessons plans, CD-ROM's, interactive videos, simulation software, assessment materials and online services - all organised by the National Curriculum programmes of study and the QCA schemes of work. This website lists a wide range of both free and priced resources for every subject and is well worth a visit. Inlcudes ratings and reviews from teachers.

Barry's Clip Art - A collection of free clip art

Microsoft Design Gallery Live - A huge collection of downloadable clip art, music and sounds for adding to your documents and making them look or even sound better!

Clipart.com - Another huge collection of clip art. Contrary to what I have read in other places, while this site does give some free samples, it is mainly a subscription site (quite expensive too).

The British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) - A trade organsiation that draws membership from the educational supply industry. Members include manufacturers and suppliers of educational and training equipment, material, consumables, teaching aids, furniture, technology hardware and software and services for all ranges, areas of the curriculum and administration. BESA produces and annual directory to help educators find the right suppliers.

Clickteaching - An online resource database for JUST primary education (hooray!). Only thing is - guess what? - you have to subscribe at a cost of £14.95 per year. NGfL approved too...

education.telegraph.co.uk - The Electronic Telegraph's education pages.

Learning Alive - A much under-rated site from RM covering all aspects of primary education. A great starting point with the Google Safe Search (also available from schoolsource.info of course!). Also worth dropping into the staffroom.

Primary Sites - A colourful and well built website very much like schoolsource.info. It is slightly smaller than schoolsource, but it is searchable, and each website is ranked with a score from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent). Each site is also helpfully categorised as 'aimed at Children' or 'aimed at Teachers' etc. I'll be back here soon!

Topmarks Education - Another site of weblinks, well designed and containing a large database. It is searchable and organised by subject category and age groups. Contains links for all Key Stages as well as higher and advanced levels. Some great tips for parents on hearing their children read here.

Good Schools Guide - Basically a database of past league tables, the addresses of schools and their location on a map. Seems to be all schools rather than a selection.

Office for Standards in Education - OFSTED - Download and read your school's last inspection report.

Kevin's Playroom - an award-winning educational portal produced and maintained by children. This site was voted Top Homework Site by CiTV viewers. Let me know what you think of this site!

Learn.co.uk - from the Guardian - Free resources for lesson planning and private study. The area for downloading past SAT's papers comes particularly highly recommended. This is the free, open version of the Guardian's Premium website.

Talking Teaching - A partnership of the Teaching Awards Trust, learn.co.uk and BT has come together to provide this website of best practice – by teachers for teachers. Browse it for teaching ideas, solutions to problems in class or with your colleagues, to read articles or to write your own. You can post a question on the messageboard or write about your own experiences in the trade secrets area.

Teacher Network -
Voted best educational website by the Computer Active Web Guide Magazine, this is a general website for teachers, including news, jobs and resources.

Teachers Magazine - Electronic version of the Teachers Magazine published by the DfES.

Timesavers for Teachers - A Canadian site containing teacher resources and tools that save time. Practical, visually appealing often-used forms, checklists, units, timesaving ideas, and other reproducible worksheets for busy classroom teachers.

Teacher Support Network - Offering support to teachers, lecturers and their families. The Teacher Support Network is the working name of the Teachers' Benevolent Fund, a registered charity.

FableVision - Publisher's website including some free resources, such as downloadable posters and free web access to their book 'The North Star'. Worth browsing through their 'stories and fun' section.

Educate The Children - Contains thousands of lesson plans, worksheets, articles and teaching strategies. An excellent site.

Teaching Ideas for Primary Teachers - Packed full of ideas for use in the classroom, categorised by subject, including 'time fillers'. Beware: you could spend hours at this site!!

Can Do! - The Can Do! web site offers stories, activities, and resources to help create a better understanding and deeper appreciation of how people can overcome their challenges and reach their dreams by using their abilities and a "can-do" attitude.

The Staff Room - A Virtual Staffroom based upon the activities that take place in the newsgroup uk.education.staffroom. Just make sure you don't sit in the wrong chair!

The Dog Ate It! - A fun website designed for hard-pressed teachers to let of steam. You MUST check out the section containing letters from parents!

TES - Times Educational Supplement - The internet version of the current Times Educational Supplement. THE place to go for educational news. Register for the online job-search and the results of your search are e-mailed to you every week.

eteach.com - An interactive database of teaching jobs in the UK, categorised by area. Take note, though: sign up and you will be pestered by their e-mail newsletter for evermore!

teachers.net - A well-designed site for teachers to share lesson plans and ideas. What makes this one different is the ease on the eye: no bright, screaming colours. All very grown-up!

jftSchoolzone - The teacher's section includes resources, good practice, career and news. Reviews of the best books, websites, software and other resources also feature.
